Units have been proof pressure tested to 60,000 PSIg at room temperature. This design uses an economical proprietary method of silver brazing a high pressure fitting directly to the thermocouple sheath. Testing concluded that the thermocouple’s calibration (Type J Thermocouple) was maintained after silver brazing and pressure testing.

These type K ungrounded thermocouples are manufactured using Special (+/-0.4%) limits and have a time response of 1.7 to 4.0 seconds depending on the tip configuration.
Conax Technologies manufactures these exhaust thermocouples with tip diameters from .062 diameter to .125. They are used on all heavy duty gas turbines and are of the latest configuration for easy replacement. Just connect Conax’s thermocouple to the flexible, stainless steel braided cable for quick installation and longer life.

All specification qualified exhaust gas and blade path thermocouples are manufactured from ASTM E585 thermocouple materials utilizing the highest purity insulation material yielding superior insulation resistance at elevated temperatures.

Wheelspace, Disc Cavity and Compressor Discharges Thermocouples

Conax Technologies’ thermocouples for this application meet the operational and performance requirements per the OEM specifications as replacements on heavy duty gas turbines. These cost effective thermocouples are designed to be hermetically sealed to provide a more reliable product that eliminates IR failures. The positive stop at the tip of the thermocouple eliminates any fretting problems. Conax’s wheelspace, disc cavity and C.D.T. thermocouples are manufactured using a stainless steel sheath, MgO insulation with type K conductors to ensure the robust design needed in this application.

Bearing Sensors and Seals
These sensors are for embedded applications where temperature monitoring is critical to machine performance and reliability. Available with RTDs or thermocouple types J, K, T and E. The unique bearing sensor wire seal prevents migration of oil along the sensor leads.

CBT 100 Series sensor-terminal head assemblies are available in all thermocouple calibrations and in RTD assemblies with 100, 200, 500 and 1000 ohm platinum, 10 ohm copper or 120 ohm nickel elements. Assemblies are available with stainless steel sheaths, a W8 mounting fitting and explosion-proof terminal head with terminal strip and 4-20mA transmitter.

CBT 200 and CBT 300 assemblies are NEC-compliant replacement probes for use with UL and CSA-approved terminal heads in hazardous locations. CBT 200 provides a W8 fitting for attachment to the terminal head and to the vessel. CBT 300 provides a W7 fitting for attachment to the terminal head. A separate adjustable fitting is required to attach the probe to the vessel.

CT 600 Series sensor-terminal head assemblies are available in all thermocouple calibrations and in RTD assemblies with 100, 200, 500 and 1000 ohm platinum, 10 ohm copper or 120 ohm nickel elements. Assemblies are available with stainless steel or Inconel sheaths, a spring loaded mounting fitting (CSLW) and explosion-proof terminal head with terminal strip. Note: Sensor must be installed into either a thermowell or a port machined into a solid metal piece with a 1/2″-14 NPT mounting connection made per ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 and gauged to +1/2 to +2 turns from flush with end of start thread in accordance with CSA Std. C22.2 0.5 and UL Std. 1203, A 36″ maximum bore depth, a 0.104″ minimum wall, and a ∅0.302″ maximum bore.

Steriwire continuous-wire thermocouples feature a Type T (Copper/Constantan) thermocouple with special limits of error, attached to a nearly unlimited length of insulated stranded thermocouple wire. Optional tipping provides electrical isolation of the thermocouple function from the environment or product. One-inch tipping is standard, but tipping up to 6″ long (in one-inch increments) is available. The simplicity of construction allows these junctions to be configured in the field if required. Plug & Jack terminations made of molded thermoset compounds are also available in miniature and standard sizes.
