With the HPG High-Performance PG Series, Conax has found a way to improve one of our time-tested solutions. The result is an exclusive, high performance compression seal fitting that is only available from Conax.

Employing PEEK® as a sealant material offers unique properties, such as chemical resistance rivaling PTFE, higher operating temperatures, a lower expansion rate, and little to no cold flow—with almost no trade-offs.

By optimizing the fitting design and using a PEEK® sealant,
we have been able to increase pressure performance by
more than 1700%.

If you need to seal on a single sensor, electrode, tube or conductor, Conax Technologies has a variety of options for you. For high-performance electrode feedthroughs (8,000V max, 200A max), please request Conax brochure 6068.

The HPG High-Performance PG Series compression seal fitting is especially well suited to the unique conditions found in furnaces, autoclaves, environmental chambers, oil and gas applications, and chemical and biochemical reactors, where process temperatures and pressures combine to create challenging environments.

In addition to the bore sizes listed in the chart on page 2, Conax can also provide fittings with metric or custom bore sizes.

The HPG Series bodies have special internal configuration for use with Conax PEEK® sealants. Use of other parts or materials will result in lower to significantly lower pressure ratings.

Application Ideas:

Like the EGT Feedthrough, Conax Technologies HEGPK Feedthroughs electrically and/or thermally isolate single electrodes, tubes or temperature sensors for use in vacuum furnaces, liquid level probes, transformers, environmental chambers, power leads and more. These bare electrical feedthroughs also seal against gases and liquids and resist electrode (also known as conductor) movement under pressure. The HEGPK Feedthrough differs from the EGT Feedthrough in that the single piece insulator/sealant is manufactured from PEEK™, which is recognized as one of the highest performing engineered thermoplastic materials currently available.

The HEGPK Feedthroughs provide several distinct advantages over Conax’s EGT Feedthroughs :
* HEGPK Feedthroughs have higher pressure ratings at room temperature (typically in excess of 250%), as compared to Conax’s EGT Feedthrough.
* HEGPK Feedthroughs also have improved sealing performance at elevated temperatures, as compared to EGT Feedthroughs .

Conax Technologies Model MK Midlock Fittings (sealing glands) seal a single tube or probe. Featuring a metal-to-metal seal rather than our standard soft sealant technology, MK fittings are used where a joint must be opened and resealed in the same setting. Their unique design forms the seal well within the body housing to provide superior performance in high vibration applications.

Conax Technologies offers three models of split fittings (glands) designed to facilitate assembly and sealant replacement when the diameter of the probe tip is larger than the diameter of the element(s) at the location of the seal. Split fittings provide split sealants, followers and seats to facilitate easy sealant change without removing the element(s) from the system.

Sample Probe Assemblies (SPAs)

Conax Technologies’ Sample Probe Assemblies (SPA) are used to insert and retract an analyzer sample probe or injection quill into a pressurized process through a process isolation valve. Conax SPAs are designed for unique applications, including:

• Process analysis
• Flare stack emissions
• Chemical injection quills
• Waste water analysis
• Potable water quality sampling
• Hot tapping liquid or gas streams

Material options

• Sample Probe Assemblies and/or PG fitting bodies can be supplied with a Silcolloy™ 1000 (Silcosteel^®-CR) or SilcoNert™ 2000 (Siltek^®/Sulfinert^®)coating.
• Standard Sealants are PTFE and Grafoil^®. Other sealants are available for special applications.
